These people are so freaking cool and just straight up know their stuff and more than anything they are so real and transparent. So when they band together to endorse something, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind it is all the hype they give it. It’s like the universe shouting for me to check out whatever they are talking about and last week it was tapping. Have you heard of tapping? Tapping or Emotional Freedom Technique uses acupressure, or “meridian points,” in our bodies, combined with traditional Western psychotherapy.
As explained here or in a video here, the practice consists of tapping with your fingertips on specific meridian points while talking through traumatic memories and a wide range of emotions. It’s essentially a massage for your mind, a deep stress relieving technique.
Tapping tagets the amygdala, an almond-shaped part of your brain that initiates your body’s negative reaction to fear, a process we often refer to as the “fight or flight” response, that makes it so powerful.
Nick Ortner’s new book The Tapping Solution comes out this week & clearly we should all check it out! I know it feels silly at first but it really does help.
