THINGS I READ // WROTE ::

-Molly Sims on Body Image.

Comfortable shoes.

Omg. Whole Foods. $$$

-Loved this article from Sakara Life! especially this line::
“Those extra 5-10 pounds, that place where your body naturally wants to be – that’s your life. That’s your late night pizza with your man, that Sunday morning bottomless brunch, your favorite cupcake in the whole entire world because you wanted to treat yourself. Those 5-10 pounds are your favorite memories, your unforgettable trips, your celebrations of life.”

-Loved this super feminist blog post about the holidays. So much good stuff in here. Eye-opening. For instance this line is so good::
“the concept of food being connected to morality remains: we judge people as good when they eat salad and yogurt and chia seeds, and bad when they eat donuts and burgers. We turn this inward on ourselves too. And we don’t have to. Instead we can adopt the belief that we are just inherently good, that we never need to be perfectionisty about anything, and that health and eating are not connected to morality.”

-I wrote this last year about the holidays but it is still very true this year.

TO LISTEN // WATCH::

-Amy Schumer on Body Image & style please watch!

I love both of them so much & this video was so fun!

Best most important TED talk I’ve seen.

11906269_110607259307034_944634875_n-So I heard on Alanis Morissette’s new podcast (yes she has one, listen here) about this communication style and I’m going to try to adapt it as much as I remember to in my life. This post outlines the steps.

-Loved this story about COLOR. Listen to it. Fascinating!

-I loved this episode of This American Life this week especially the first act about the high school girls.

-Last week’s episode of Katie Wonders in case you missed it!

TO EAT::

-Dying to make these brownies they happen to be sugar and gluten free too.

-The dip I’m dying to dip into. Creamy spinach and avocado dip.

-This recipe isn’t actually to eat it’s to smell but it look awesome.

TO TRY // EXPLORE ::

-I love baths and this one is my new obsession thanks to Kris Carr.

New social media where you can only post one super good link per day. I’m into it.

-Look at this pretty jewelry line. They’re giving us a donation to a charity with every purchase we make using this code::  “WellnessWonderland

-How cute is this pin?

-Um I need this how clever is this mermaid blanket?

-How cute are these nails? Perfect for the holidays I think.

-I haven’t done gift guides in a couple years but I did them in 2012 & 2013 and so here they are if you want to meander them!

Check out my friend abbey’s sweet shop Amiga!  Perfect for all your holiday shopping needs. At least I want everything.

I wrote this about what I think a Wellness Wonderland is::

082 | Caroline Dooner part 1 on Body Image, Creativity, & ‘The Fuck It Diet’

Caroline-Dooner_avatar_1432421720-277x277I was excited about interviewing today’s guest for weeks. She is seriously so cool and I am a huge fan girl, so naturally I had a lot of questions to ask. We ended up speaking for over 2 hours late one night so I’m actually having to split this episode into 2 parts, the first of which is airing today and covers the first part of Caroline’s story with dieting and restriction as well as some deep talk on body image and weight. If you don’t know Caroline, you’re missing out but no worries after these two episodes you’ll get to know her really well. She’s the ultimate triple threat, an actress, signer, and emotional freedom from food and anti- dieting coach as the founder of the Fuck It Diet. Her approach to food and weight is amazing and her 10 day free mini course on a diet recovery is super awesome. She also offers this rad soul recovery program that is changing lives left and right by helping people tune into their creativity as a way to heal their relationships with themselves, their bodies, and food.

My favorite lines & nuggets of wisdom: Some of them are TWEETABLES…Just click right on ‘em!

“In regards to restriction it’s not the food, it’s the state of mind about the food.”

“When you’re living for the future, it never happens.”

“It’s not the weight-loss habits that matter, it’s the way you live your life. It’s the quality of life that you are giving yourself.”

“The more you accept yourself, and love yourself, and want the best for yourself, and are not judging yourself based on how you look, how you weigh or how well you did on your diet today the more likely you are to eat balanced foods.”

“It’s essential for progress on issues, to have people on both sides defending human rights.”

“Your body is so much more powerful and able to regulate in a way that we think is broken.”

“Its not that we are afraid of being fat, it’s about what we make fat mean.”

My favorite Pete Holmes bit ever of all time. I love this so much it’s crazy.

1. Elizabeth Gilbert’s newest book Big Magic is a must read. JUST TRUST ME. She talks creativity & life & ah there are just so many good stories I finished it in a day on audible, not joking.
2. Mindy Kaling’s newest book Why Not Me? also was delightful. I laughed a lot & felt super motivated with girl power. I highly suggest it too.

2 Videos + 2 Topics + 3 Resources = AWESOMENESS BELOW

I recently visited Toronto and made these two videos with my friends Nikky of HealthNut Nutrition and Davida of The Healthy Maven I love them both and you will two. Each of these videos discusses very different but equally important topics so I thought I’d share them both along with some resources that have tremendously helped me with each of the two topics discussed.

1. START BEFORE YOU’RE READY::

This video is about ending procrastination & starting your creative passion. We discuss how to beat procrastination and do what you love regardless of your skill level or resources when you first start because stating is the hardest part.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCE for this video:: Well more videos… This video training series from my mentor Gabby Bernstein really helped me with this so if you want to know more about the concepts we discussed in this video check out the first video here.

2. STOP BEING CRAZY AROUND FOOD::

This video is equally as important but on a completely different topic. Here we discuss our unique patterns with food and body image. We discuss the challenge of finding balance between our passion for sharing about healthy living  with  finding pleasure in eating and not being too restrictive about our choices.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCE for this video:: Well more videos again… The video series that REALLY helped me stop being insane around food was this one with my mentor Isabel Foxen Duke so check it out here.

If you have an questions on anything shoot me and email here.
