my Favs / Gratitudes No. 013 | April 2017 Favorites

April 2017 FavoritesIt’s been quite a while since I made a favorites / gratitude episode so I had an abundance of favorite things to share this week. Today’s episode is packed with things I’ve been into in the last couple months. If you are subscribed to my newsletter you may see some overlap. If you aren’t and want more favorites along with extras on things I’ve been exploring be sure to sign-up here.

Thank you to everyone who came to the podcast listener meet up in Philly this weekend, it was so cool meeting you guys. I for sure want to do another meet up in New York once I move and let me know what city you are listening from so we can meet up if I’m ever visiting. I loved recording this episode, it’s always fun to share things I’m loving and grateful for with my friends. Life can be (has been) so busy but recording this episode helped me to slow down enough to enjoy the people, music, movies, podcasts and  other little things in life that make it so good. It’s good to focus on the things that we’re grateful for rather than the things we wish were different or wanted to change. Hopefully these recommendations allow you to explore something new and if you have things you love share them in the Facebook Group with me, I’d love that.

Happy Fall! Enjoy the rest of the expansive internet below. There’s so much to see & hear on there, but here are the videos, interviews, podcasts, photos, and articles that caught my eye over the last month. I hope you like them too. Comment below with what you’ve been loving this month.

My favorite Pete Holmes bit ever of all time. I love this so much it’s crazy.

-This video of him with David Avocado Wolfe is pretty funny too though.

-Two Books I read this month & loved::
1. Elizabeth Gilbert’s newest book Big Magic is a must read. JUST TRUST ME. She talks creativity & life & ah there are just so many good stories I finished it in a day on audible, not joking.
2. Mindy Kaling’s newest book Why Not Me? also was delightful. I laughed a lot & felt super motivated with girl power. I highly suggest it too.

Okay I’m new to the Caftan but so unbelievably all about it.

I adore Jenny Slate and obviously Obvious Child.

Yum perfect fall popcorn trail-mix.

-I love matthew gray gubler! just so much.

Hello perfect fall pumpkin snack.

Lol Hipster Barbie.

I thought this article was super helpful maybe you will too or know someone it could help.

Two of my favorite powerful women talking is amazing and they’re talking about my fav topic creativity too!

Look at this cool magazine, there might be someone you know featured in there? Take a look. So, go grab your copy! I can’t wait for you to dive in, the contributors are truly amazing.

Also, honored to be included in this post of light workers.

– Guys so my friend and friend of the podcast Lucy (episode #72 ) is hosting this rad retreat next year in Bali:: Space and Possibility – happening in June next year, who wants to go with me?

This book is so amazing and so filled with wisdom that helps me in all areas of life. I recently re-listened to it here and the body chapter really got me. It starts at about 1:50min or so.

I love this and Stanle Tucci so much

Super great post from my girl Isabel please read.
Here are my favorite lines though::

“I worry that women are being made to feel like failures when their attempts at improving their mental or spiritual health do NOT produce permanent weight loss.”

-Everything you ever need to know about superfoods. My amazing friend Nikky made an ebook about them that is beautiful.

My favorite podcast right now, I just can’t get enough of these two. & one of them is going to be a guest on WWRadio super soon. yay.

What I REALLY think of Gabby Bernstein’s masterclass, an honest review.

-New podcast coming at you on Wednesday! so if you’re not caught up here are the most recent two::
Last week’s podcast Gabby Bernstein returns.
-The week before Isabel Foxen Duke was back.

2 Videos + 2 Topics + 3 Resources = AWESOMENESS BELOW

I recently visited Toronto and made these two videos with my friends Nikky of HealthNut Nutrition and Davida of The Healthy Maven I love them both and you will two. Each of these videos discusses very different but equally important topics so I thought I’d share them both along with some resources that have tremendously helped me with each of the two topics discussed.

1. START BEFORE YOU’RE READY::

This video is about ending procrastination & starting your creative passion. We discuss how to beat procrastination and do what you love regardless of your skill level or resources when you first start because stating is the hardest part.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCE for this video:: Well more videos… This video training series from my mentor Gabby Bernstein really helped me with this so if you want to know more about the concepts we discussed in this video check out the first video here.

2. STOP BEING CRAZY AROUND FOOD::

This video is equally as important but on a completely different topic. Here we discuss our unique patterns with food and body image. We discuss the challenge of finding balance between our passion for sharing about healthy living  with  finding pleasure in eating and not being too restrictive about our choices.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCE for this video:: Well more videos again… The video series that REALLY helped me stop being insane around food was this one with my mentor Isabel Foxen Duke so check it out here.

If you have an questions on anything shoot me and email here.

How to Start A Blog, Find A Niche, & Your Voice

I’m starting to get asked a ton about how to how to start a blog so I thought I’d just make a quick video about it. This video includes my top tips for starting a blog or making your blog even better or more fun which is the real goal of blogging…I think.

Watch the video to find out the tips that I’ve learned through my humble experience blogging. I’m sure there are many more things I’m missing that could be helpful and have worked for other people, but again I’m simply sharing my own experience of what has worked for me.

If you know someone who has a blog or wants to and you think this video would be helpful to them send it their way. Or tweet the below quote I quoted in this video. >>

Mill’s is such a rad place & one of my favorite local places to shop/be. Check out some of the cool, unique thoughtful gifts they have, I even got to choose my favorite things (just like Oprah). Including but not limited to these:

Simple Avocado Soap I love. Perfect gift to give yourself.
This one is just for fun & I don’t own this money burner but they sell the most expensive, biggest, and most beautiful candle I’ve ever seen in my life. Perhaps for the person who has everything?
-Now this is the gift to give to someone who truly has everything. It is a Seaweed Bath Kit. As you know I love me a good bath and this would be a dream in it. Just goes to show the uniqueness of what they have at Mill’s.
This tea is amazing & Joseph Wesley the founder himself will be there with tea samples too. This is my favorite tea.
