IN PROCESS:
AN EXPERIENTIAL GROUP WORKSHOP

Part class, part supportive group, part alone-while-together co-working, this is a study in finding focus within chaos and defining living creatively for each individual.

It began in 2020, by me (Katie Dalebout) as my solution to perpetually feeling overwhelmed and creatively frustrated.

I rarely felt the satisfaction of completing a project.

Eventually I found a way to feel more organized, productive, and focused. I’ve compiled it into this course, but the crown jewel is the alive group.

This community allows us to be alone to complete tasks, while providing structure and external accountability to feel support.

Who IS in
IN process ?

Folks craving more direction, completion, satisfaction, and connection.

Some members work full-time jobs, some freelance, many do both at once or, like me, have several jobs.

We’ve had: a jewelry designer, a winemaker, six painters, two poets, an HR director, two chefs, five musicians, a middle school teacher, a screenwriter, four ceramicists, an architect, illustrators, yoga teachers, many more…

Parents of young children, parents of grown children, & one mother/daughter pair.

We root for each other.

THE IN PROCESS CYCLE

1. Clearing space: digitally, physically, and emotionally
2. Gathering: taking in inspiration, experiences, relationships
3. Trying: unpacking all we’ve gathered, sorting it, tossing it at the wall, seeing what sticks
4. Sharing: closes the loop, allows for feedback, iteration, and connection.

We repeat the loop each semester with a new theme. This time the theme is finding focus within the chaos of existing.

2025 CALL Dates & TIMES: TBA

It began in 2020 (then called Creative Underdogs) as a way to connect over creative projects. But after two semesters, I saw that it was less about completion of a specific project (although that occurred) and more about personally growing and exploring what a creative life looks like in the situation you're in.

My biggest bursts of creativity and personal growth have happened during transitions. If you are in the midst of a career or artistic pivot, a move, a breakup, or an in-between of some sort… this might be the ideal time to join this group. It will support you and nourish you as you feel the discomfort of growth.

Or if you are wanting to up-level a current situation to make it better or wanting to shake up a phase of stagnation… this group will encourage that as well.

FAQS:

Is this just for creative people? Or is it like life coaching?

Not just for creative people, it is about looking at your life as a whole creatively. Designing your life in a way that feels fulfilling.

Do I have to pay in full?

Yes, payment is in full due to the group nature of the workshop requiring the consistency of a 5-month commitment. However, if you would like a payment plan, email us at info@letitouttt.com and we can work something out.

What if I feel like I’m not a creative person, but I have ideas?

I believe that everyone is creative — as Elizabeth Gilbert says, if you are curious you are creative. If you have an idea, even a small one, that needs support and nurturing, we’d love to have you.

What if I don’t have any ideas? Or I don’t have a specific creative project?

It is completely okay! First of all this workshop will help to generate ideas. And secondly, many participants figure out their ideas or projects during the course of the semester. Some switch it up throughout, and some never have one at all but use it more as a place to grow and nurture their life as a whole. Therefore it becomes a course in making your life your masterpiece, not a project or a single aspect of it. It will help you to live a more creative life and therefore set you up to pursue ideas whenever they reach you.

What if I miss a call?

While we try to accommodate as many time zones as possible with the varied days and times of the work sessions and lectures, it is inevitable that you will have to miss one or several classes or work sessions. All classes and work sessions will be recorded, so you can listen at your leisure. Please try to make it to as many live as possible, as they are interactive and group participation is highly encouraged. We completely understand the need to miss sessions due to work or family or social obligations and it is not a barrier to getting the most out of the group. The course can even work as a self-study, non-live, fully recorded workshop where you can completely do it on your own time.

Is it all Zoom-based/people from all over?

Yes, it’s all on Zoom and recorded live. Yes, people are everywhere. We encourage member-initiated small groups or in-person meetups for anyone who is in the same city. I (Katie) will try to make any in cities I am in or traveling to as often as possible.

How big is the group and do we share our works in progress and give/get feedback?

We keep the group small and expect it will be anywhere from 30-45 people. We also do breakout groups and accountability partners. I will stay until every question is answered and every person feels held and supported in the group regardless of size.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Because creativity, connection, and growing take time, IN PROCESS is a five-month commitment. After the five months, there is no obligation to renew your membership or do the next session but it is a commitment for the duration of the semester.

Due to the nature of this group, we don’t offer refunds.
